“I hope that real love and truth are stronger in the end than any evil or misfortune in the world.”

—Charles Dickens, from David Copperfield

About Me.

I enjoy working with people who identify as being on the fringe, who are artists, teachers, rebels, lawyers, cops, or queers—people who may look like they fit in but don’t feel like they do. I work with individuals, couples and families of all constellations. I also specialize in working with other psychotherapists and social workers who need their own therapist but want someone who won’t bullshit them and won’t be afraid to challenge them.

My clients describe me as funny, a bit quirky, warm and gentle, while remaining firm.

I have a BA in Creative Writing from San Francisco State University and obtained my MA in Counseling Psychology from California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) in San Francisco. I am currently completing an MFA program at CIIS, as well as incorporating more art therapy into my psychotherapy practice.

I have extensive training in Grief and Loss, Couples Counseling, Group Counseling, and Gestalt therapy. I am a founding member of the Bay Area Gestalt Institute and am currently on their board of directors. I have been teaching at CIIS for the last seven years where I am an assistant professor for the core faculty of the Integral Counseling Psychology program and also serve as the executive director for the six internal clinics that CIIS maintains. I also supervise trainees and associate therapists.

Lastly, I have been a practicing Buddhist for the last thirty years in the Vipassana tradition.
