“To see and be seen. That is the truest nature of love”
—Brené Brown
Family and Group Therapy.
I have been facilitating groups for over thirty years. I have facilitated groups for cops, administrators, social workers and associate psychotherapists. More specifically I have been working with families of all configurations for the last fifteen years. Regardless of whether the group is a traditional family or more of a modern or polycule family, I enjoy seeing the breakthroughs groups can make when they slow down and listen and not project their entire experience onto the group. People are often drawn to group work when the dynamics of the group slows down the groups progress of growth, goal achievement, and love.
I think the key to good family therapy is to be clear, kind, and firm; to help facilitate dialogue and work towards understanding and forgiveness.
